Floor electronic scales do not correctly show the weight - how to fix the malfunction?

Almost every house has electronic scales for measuring its own weight - people try to track changes in their shape as much as possible in order to take timely measures. To do this, they are weighed daily, but the values on the scales can be different each time. In fact, this can be explained by physical changes - the normal functioning of the body. But when a person several times in a row gets on the platform and receives different meanings, this should alert. Next, we consider in detail why floor-mounted electronic scales often show different weights.

A bit about electronic species

Electronic floor device

Now there are only two types of devices for weighing any purpose: mechanical and electronic. Mechanical ones do not differ in high accuracy - manufacturers do not hide the fact that discreteness of up to one kilogram is permissible in such devices. With electronic devices, everything is different. Still worth paying attention to smart scales for home use.

Despite the similarities in the structure of the mechanism, electronic devices give more accurate results. This can be explained by the elementary display of the value on the display - indicating kilograms and grams, which can not be disassembled on the scale of mechanical devices, which leads to reduced discreteness - from 100 to 500 grams.

Electronic Diagnostic Devices

In the simplified electronic models, a measuring spring is integrated, the results of which are displayed on the display during weighing. More modern and advanced models use a voltage sensor through which electric current is passed. As soon as a person stands on the platform, the sensor is pulled, and the emerging electrical signal displays the changed data on the display. In these models, only electronics is used; the advantages include the ability to receive additional information about the body.

Possible breakdowns

If the electronic floor scales show different weights, most likely the device has broken. You can determine the type of breakdown by certain signs:

  • Lack of data on the display - the most likely reason is the lack of constant power. Simply put, the batteries are dead. Batteries must be removed and replaced with new ones. Often such a problem appears in the form of an error on the display, so it will not be difficult to eliminate the malfunction. How to replace batteries in the floor scales yourself, read in our article.

    System failure

  • The presence of a problem in the loop of the device - this element connects the electronic board and the display. If it is not tightly attached to one of the components, inaccuracies in the indicators are possible, namely a complete or partial lack of information. To fix the malfunction, you need to raise the board and push it to the display more tightly.
  • Derivation of erroneous information: a person suddenly became heavier or lighter by ten or more kilograms, although there are no changes in the figure. Similar problems occur due to thinning of the contact ends. To solve the problem, replace the relay.

  • Invalid value output

  • Clogging - this sounds strange, but similar problems occur if the device is installed on the floor and stored like this for the entire duration of operation. When clogged, as a rule, the device does not work - the values simply are not displayed. In this situation, it is necessary to disassemble the structure and thoroughly clean everything with a soft brush.
  • Inaccurate measurements - often this is due to incorrect calibration, for the correction of which you must use the instructions. In terms of functionality, the models of electronic measuring devices differ markedly: some provide automatic calibration immediately after installation on a flat surface, while others scales need to be adjusted independently.
  • Failure in the mechanism - this problem is associated with incorrect weighing.

The main problem that arises when using electronic scales is that the device shows different body weights.

Why is the display different weight

Why floor electronic scales do not correctly show weight is a known problem and often occurs due to minor errors in the operation of the device. The reasons may be as follows:

  • There is an uneven surface under the device - if the device staggers when you touch it or when standing on it, it is necessary to transfer the device to a more even surface.
  • It is important to stand on the platform correctly - and most importantly, level the legs straight: first, the feet should be parallel to each other; secondly, it is necessary to remember the approximate position of the legs when weighing, so that each time you get a more accurate result when tracking weight.

    Display error

  • It is necessary to stand straight - perpendicular to the surface of the balance. If you move your weight on socks, you can become heavier, but if on your heels - on the contrary, it is easier.
  • Avoid sudden changes in air temperature in the room where the device is located. The electronic system is highly sensitive, therefore moisture penetration or heating of the elements can cause damage.
  • Do not bring the balance to heating objects. Often appliances lie if they are, for example, near a heating system.

The measuring device may start to fail, including constantly showing a different weight, due to improper care. So, it is not recommended to clean the mechanism of the device with chemicals. After such cleaning, the balance is unlikely to show the correct weight. For home use, we recommend that you pay attention to floor glass scales.

Any electronic devices, including floor scales, must be treated carefully, and before use, read the attached instructions.

    Hello!
I read everything, everything is good and clear, but I have such a question. Recently I bought Unit 9 electronic floor scales for fat, bones and other things for 999 ₽. With the help of the level I chose a flat section of the floor, put chipboard under the scales, set up the scales, and weighed. I got off the scales, waited until they turned off, weighed again - the same weight of grams to grams. I repeated this procedure several times - the weight is unchanged. I was delighted with such accuracy, left the scales in the same place and weighed after about half an hour. He looked at the scoreboard and was surprised - he grew 2 kg fatier, although he didn’t eat, didn’t drink, and spent all this time in his chair in front of the TV. He left the scales again for a rather long time, and again weighed. Now I’ve lost 1.5 kg of the weight that I had during the very first weigh-in. And no matter how much I experimented with the scales, the result is the same - if I repeat the weighing immediately after turning it off - the readings are grams to grams, if I weigh them over a sufficiently long period of time - the spread of readings is sometimes several kilograms. Naturally, I returned the scales to the store, but the question remained - is this behavior typical of all electronic floor scales or am I just out of luck?
